SAVE TAXPAYERS MONEY

I know what it's like to live on a tight family budget with sacrifices that have to be made for a better tomorrow. The County can start by competitively bidding all contracts longer than three years and collaborating with the school district and cities to receive volume discounts on common items we buy often such as computers, office supplies, cleaning products, etc.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
When school budgets were hit hard during the recession, SRO’s (School Resource Officers) were not able to be assigned at every school. The sheriff's office should be given adequate resources to protect the citizens of Osceola. We also owe a duty to protect the officers themselves by retrofitting deputies with the best equipment and other technologies proven to be successful.

COLLABORATION WITH CITIES

Everyone who lives in the City of Kissimmee and St Cloud also lives in the County and pays County taxes. Even if you rent a home or an apartment, the owner of the complex has embedded in the rent a margin for the property tax. Therefore, the Cities and County should look to work together on projects and cost share departmental functions as much as possible to save the taxpayers money.

HIGH WAGE JOBS

Retail shops that pay minimum wages are plenty in Osceola County while Industrial Parks are few and far between. Attracting a corporate headquarters requires vacant land to be available for development. We can begin by capitalizing on industries that can compliment Medical City in nearby Lake Nona such as a medical device or an electronic records software company.

SMART GROWTH

Growth should be encouraged, but with the proper infrastructure in place to sustain a high quality of life. Why wait until after the growth occurs if we already have a master plan? When recruiting outside companies to relocate, we should protect our local businesses first. NO INCENTIVES to outside companies who compete with a similar business already established in the County.
INFRASTRUCTURE

One of the many challenges facing sunrail is the connectivity of local bus stops to the train station and eventually to the final destination of the potential passenger.
Whenever DRI's (Development's of Regional Impact) or any other significant changes to the zoning ordinances occur, we must make sure that adequate water, utilities, schools, parks, and roads are in place before the development begins.
